On Wednesday morning (20/5), Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, at the Presidential Palace, as part of their regular monthly contacts.

During the meeting, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed that Greece is facing the challenges of the international situation “with calm and confidence”, noting that the country has strong deterrent capabilities, international alliances and the support of international law.

The Prime Minister also referred to political developments, noting that changes and upheavals in the political scene do not affect the government’s planning. He said that the main priority remains the implementation of the government’s programme until the completion of the government’s constitutional term, stressing that “every month counts”.

He said that all outstanding issues related to the Recovery Fund are expected to be completed by the end of August, while reiterating that the government continues to focus on addressing the rising cost of living.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis also made a special reference to financial support for families, noting that 150 euros per child will be paid to beneficiaries in June.
