Socrates Famellos’ proposal, which provides support for Alexis Tsipras’ initiative, was approved by a majority of the SYRIZA Central Committee.

On the contrary, the amendment submitted and co-signed by, among others, Rena Dourou, Nikos Pappas and Pavlos Polakis did not pass.

The text also submitted by Tryfon Alexiadis, Fotini Karystinaki and Giorgos Panagiotopoulos, stresses that scenarios of self-dissolution or suspension of the party’s operation, which are described as “unreliable and offensive”, are categorically rejected. As they state, SYRIZA must remain present in the next elections as an organized party and not through individual agreements or movements of executives.

At the same time, they propose the formation of a “round table” of coordinated forces to formulate a common programme and electoral cooperation. In this context, they call for direct contact with political figures and areas such as Nikos Kotzias, Louka Katseli, Alexis Tsipras, the New Left, as well as executives of the 2015-2019 government period.
