Artificial Intelligence for All Guide is now available to citizens, a pioneering initiative by leading Greek AI scientists in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, the National Council for Research, Technology and Innovation, and the Special Secretariat for Long-Term Planning.

The “Guide”is available for free, via the new Special Secretariat for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Governance, where citizens can search it and gain direct access to all of its content.

The aim of the Guide is to enhance digital literacy and the proper use of AI in everyday life, work and learning, while emphasising the development of civic communication through modern AI systems as a basic skill.

The Guide is a practical and comprehensive tool for understanding and using AI, presenting in a clear and accessible way the basic principles of its operation, as well as various applications in the everyday life of citizens.

Through practical examples and clear instructions, it acts as a tool for familiarising people with AI, helping to reduce the digital divide and empowering citizens to make effective use of modern digital tools.

A typical example of use is the Large Language Models (LGMs), which belong to the broader category of general-purpose AI. It is a basic and at the same time useful function offered by the Guide, as it aims to clarify the basic concepts of AI and GMMs in order to understand their function and capabilities. In practice, they take data (e.g. text, images, sound, documents), analyse the data and ‘infer’ through complex algorithms. The result can be predictions (e.g., the weather forecast), content (e.g., creating an image representing something described in words in the input), recommendations or decisions (e.g., placing an incoming message in the spam), thereby improving the daily and professional lives of citizens.

The development of the Guide is a collective work of Greek scientists under the coordination of artificial intelligence (AI) researcher, Mr. It stands out for its practical, collaborative and voluntary nature, as it connects the international Greek scientific community with the State, with the aim of making cutting-edge technology understandable and accessible to all.

The design and launch of the Guide, as well as the operation of the new digital portal of the Special Secretariat for IT and Data Governance (data.gov.gr), are part of the Ministry of Digital Governance’s overall strategy to strengthen digital skills and diffuse innovation in society, aiming at the effective use of AI for the benefit of citizens and the economy.
