The 40th Pan-Hellenic Vlach Gathering will take place in Trikala on June 26–27. This is the flagship event of the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Vlach Cultural Associations and is co-organized by the Region of Thessaly – the Regional Unit of Trikala, and the Municipality of Trikala.
On Friday the 26th, according to the program, on Asklipiou Street – Zongolopoulos Street in the city of Trikala, there will be a presentation of folk events, customs, and traditions from the rich cultural heritage of Vlach-speaking Hellenism. On Saturday, June 27, in the central square of Trikala, there will be a group performance by the Federation’s dance troupes. The event is organized by the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Vlach Cultural Associations, with free admission.
A few days ago, a meeting was held in Trikala between the relevant authorities and representatives from the Municipality of Trikala, the Region of Thessaly, the Trikala Municipal Police, the Trikala Police Department, and the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Vlach Cultural Associations to better prepare for the gathering, so that every detail of the event could be arranged and the event could be held successfully.
In statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, Federation President Michalis Mageiras emphasized:
“Our goal is to highlight and promote the contribution of Vlach-speaking Hellenism to the historical, social, and cultural development of modern Greece, to preserve our centuries-old cultural tradition as a cultural expression of Hellenism, and to pass it on to future generations.”
