In a move aimed at boosting the image of urban transport, a government team carried out a night-time cleaning operation at a station of the HSPC, led by Deputy Transport Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis.

The intervention took place shortly after midnight on Thursday to Friday at the Taurus station and is part of the “Clean Line” programme, which aims to improve the image of the network.

The minister was actively involved in the work, wearing gloves and cleaning surfaces of graffiti and slogans, wanting to actively show the implementation of the project. In a report, he referred to an effort to reduce the image of abandonment that certain areas present.

The “Clean Line” programme, which will be implemented from autumn 2025, includes extensive cleaning and maintenance interventions at both stations and trains of the HSTP, with the aim of improving the daily experience of passengers.

Executives of the relevant transport operators, such as OASA and STASY, also participated in the action, as part of coordinated actions to improve the operation and image of the fixed railways.

In a post on social media, Konstantinos Kyranakis said that the intervention at the Taurus station is part of a wider effort, stressing that the aim is clean stations and trains throughout the network.

This initiative is part of an overall plan that is gradually being implemented in various parts of the HSTP, with the aim of upgrading the quality of services and the image of public transport.
