Stamatis Poulis, Advisor to the Minister of Health and First Deputy Member of Parliament for the New Democracy. West Attica, made the following statement regarding the political connections of the former Inspector General of Public Administration Maria Papaspyrou with SYRIZA:
“Maria Papaspyrou’s overt association with top Syriza officials confirms what many of us have been denouncing for years.
The former Inspector General of Public Administration, the supposedly “impeccable” official who was the protagonist of the “investigations” into the KEEΛPNO, appears to be politically, personally and professionally connected to the entourage of people who spearheaded the political toxicity of SYRIZA and the public targeting of innocent people.
Without Papaspyrou’s findings – findings that were arbitrary, unsubstantiated and ultimately collapsed in court – Pavlos Polakis would not be able to scandalize, fabricate impressions and taint consciences on a daily basis.
Today, after the irrevocable acquittals and the collapse of the indictments, it is clearer that behind the so-called “independent audit apparatus” there were connections, contacts and shared professional and financial interests.
Papaspyrou’s long-standing relationship with the Tzanakopoulos entourage and her recent association with the Tzanakopoulos – Achtsioglou family law firm now give another dimension to the role she played at that time.
This was the mechanism of SYRIZA after all: political persecution, vilification of innocent people and instrumentalization of institutions.”
