“The country is in a critical period, amidst crises and wars, we still don’t know where it will end up, with too many problems still in the news. With a government project that is still running, with too many projects that are being completed with the money from the Recovery Fund. These are the ones that come first, because they solve problems and change the lives of citizens,” said New Democracy press spokeswoman Alexandra Sdoukou, in interviews with SKAI TV and ERT News.

Ms. Sdoukou stressed that “because PASOK and SYRIZA cannot put forward a serious opposition speech, they monotonously bring scandalology into the public sphere, because they think it serves their own petty party benefits.”

He noted that they do so in a discourse and manner that is apolitical and provocative, so that in the end, by what they say, “the very words have lost their meaning. We hear so many extreme expressions.

He stressed that this is no accident, it is a choice, “because PASOK and SYRIZA cannot propose any serious opposition speech. We have chosen another way, we close our ears to shouts, to sterile criticism without proposals and do our job, trying to give solutions to everyday problems.”

Referring to the issue of independent authorities, Ms. Sdoukou argued that: “There was a discussion, there was an understanding between Mr. Hadjidakis and Mr. Androulakis. There was a direct understanding on the appointment of the independent authorities. If someone says that this is not the case, they are lying. Someone is lying in this debate.”

He even wondered if “the Speaker took the two names that were discussed out of his head? Were they not the ones agreed upon?”

As he pointed out, “PASOK on the one hand was making the arrangements, on the other hand it was telling the other parties and wanted to show that it was not talking to the government” and thus ended up being “unreliable to everyone and everyone accused it of lying”.
