Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and French President Emmanuel Macron arrived earlier at Pier 12 at the port of Piraeus to visit the frigate “Kimon”.
The French President arrived in a motorcade and was greeted by the Prime Minister along with Defence Minister Nikos Dendias and the Chief of the General Staff of the Greek Armed Forces. The two leaders then inspected the convoy and the two national anthems were played. During the rendition of the national anthems, a flyover by Rafale aircraft took place and then the Prime Minister and the President of France boarded the frigate.

The two leaders, the two Greek and French Defence Ministers, the two Greek and French Deputy Foreign Ministers, the Chief of the General Staff, the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Chief of the Fleet boarded the frigate “Kimon”.
After being welcomed by the Chief of Naval Staff and the Fleet Commander, Messrs Mitsotakis and Macron went to the Operations Centre for a tour by the Commander of the frigate “Kimon” in order to arrive at the Bridge via the Planning Room.
