“Five hundred million euros, the Prime Minister announced, is what we can additionally give back to the world. Without celebrating, we are giving back, gradually, to society what it has been deprived of,” government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said in a post.
“Let’s see who these measures affect and who will benefit:
At the end of June, some 975,000 households, representing 3.3 million members, will receive 150 euros of aid for each child, in addition to all other tax relief or all other benefits given on a permanent basis. In short, we are talking about 80% of families with children.
.
And I stand, separately, as the Prime Minister did, on the measures to deal with private debt. Because this concerns many of our fellow citizens who will get a breather.
Debts that became overdue by December 2023 can now be settled in up to 72 instalments. The only condition is that debts from December 2023 to date must be repaid or settled.
Second important measure in this category is the possibility of lifting the seizure of a bank account in case of repayment of 25% of the debt and settlement of all remaining obligations to the tax administration.
And third, which concerns about 300,000 of our fellow citizens, those who have debts between 5,000 and 10,000 euros will be able to join the out-of-court mechanism. The aid for low pensioners, which we give permanently every year, goes to 300 euros, while the perimeter is expanded to cover, now, 1.9 million beneficiaries,” he said.
He adds that “the one-rent refund will be given to even more beneficiaries. That’s 1 million tenants and ‘touching’ 86% of tenants who will, annually, get one rent back.
The diesel subsidy is extended to 20 cents at the pump for the month of May as well.
As well as the fertiliser subsidy for farmers, at 15% of the value of the invoices. This affects about 250,000 farmers.
In the land of “give it all”, “there is money”, “money trees”, I think you are tired of hearing lots and lots of things being told to you.
The Mitsotakis government, after correcting its mistakes, increases the pie and returns the extra tax revenue back to society. More to come,” the government spokesman said in his post.
