According to reports, the Prime Minister has settled on Deputy Transport Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis as the new Secretary of the New Democracy.

This choice is expected to be confirmed at the meeting of the party’s Political Committee, scheduled for next Wednesday.

Given the prospect of the next elections, Kyranakis, who has received positive feedback for his presence at the Transport Ministry, will take on the task of strengthening party activity across the country and preparing the Southwest for the electoral battle.

His move to the post of secretary creates another gap in the government’s line-up, following the loss of Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Nikos Tagaras.

Therefore, changes in the government are considered likely in the near future. At the same time, information from media sources speak of a possible return of Tasos Hadjivassiliou to a government post, with the most prevalent scenario being the assumption of the position of deputy foreign minister.
