The Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family welcomes the strong interest of citizens in the “Neighbourhood Nannies” programme, as reflected from the very first day of operation of the platform, as on ntantades.gov.gr recorded 13,500 visits. The increased traffic confirms that this is a programme that comes to fill a real gap in the daily lives of families, offering an organised, safe and flexible care solution for infants and toddlers.

The platform has been opened to enroll caregivers in the Registry as part of the program’s universal implementation. The process is exclusively online through ntantades.gov.gr using TaxisNet codes, and the application remains open throughout the implementation of the programme. Interested parties can also obtain information and support through the telephone line 210 7000360.

Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, said: “The first day of operation of the Nanny Neighbourhood platform has shown in the clearest way that the programme is coming to meet an existing and pressing need in society. The 13,500 visits on the very first day confirm the great interest of citizens. “Neighbourhood Nanny is a policy that supports families in practice, facilitates parents in their daily lives and creates a safe, organised and flexible framework of care for children.”

The programme is aimed at families with infants and toddlers aged between 2 months and 2.5 years and allows not only professionals, but also family members, such as grandparents, to register, provided they meet the requirements. Each curator may provide childcare services to up to three children at a time, subject to the terms of the invitation.

Special emphasis is placed on the safety and reliability of the program. Registration in the Registry requires, among other things, a clean criminal record, the necessary health certificates and a first aid certificate for infants and children. For those who do not have a relevant certificate, free training is provided through the HCAB and the Hellenic Red Cross, while for those who do not have a relevant qualification, a three-hour online training is provided through the howto.gov.gr platform.

The financial support for the action amounts to EUR 500 per month for parents who work full-time or are self-employed or self-employed and EUR 300 per month for parents who work part-time or on a part-time basis, are students or are registered unemployed. These amounts include insurance contributions via an employer’s stamp.
