With the completion of the 100 available positions, the submission of applications for the “Diversity Label” was completed, confirming the dynamics of the new institution and the growing interest of Greek businesses in equal opportunities policies, inclusion and prevention of discrimination in the workplace.

Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, said: “The Diversity Mark has reached its target of 100 applications, showing that the labour market is responding to an initiative that does not stay in theory but is put into practice. More and more companies are choosing to invest in non-discriminatory and inclusive working environments that respect diversity, equality and inclusion. This is not a formal certification, but a substantial step towards a culture change. Our goal is to make equality a daily practice in the workplace.”

For her part, Deputy Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Elena Rapti said: “We did it! In just two months, we reached the milestone of 100 applications for the Diversity Mark. Just two months ago, we reached only two months to date, 100 businesses have taken the step. They chose to invest in inclusion, in equal treatment, in respect. This is strong evidence that something is changing. The Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and the country’s businesses joined forces for a modern, inclusive workplace. For a society with more equality, cohesion and respect for diversity.”

The Diversity Mark is the first organised initiative to assess private sector businesses on diversity issues.

It should be noted that stakeholders can continue to visit the official website of the programme for good practices, tools and trainings in view of the next stages of the implementation of the Diversity Label.
