Dimitris Markopoulos has denied scenarios about not having a university degree, in a public statement.

The MP for Piraeus and Parliamentary Representative of New Democracy responded to the rumors that have been circulated recently, following the allegations of Stefanos Kasselakis and posts on social media.

In his post, Mr. Markopoulos clarified his position, categorically refuting those who question his academic background, putting an end – as he seeks to do – to the debate.

Dmitris Markopoulos: rumours of no university degree unsubstantiated

Following unsubstantiated rumours about the lack of a university degree and an attempt to smear my credibility, which began in an organised manner with the assumption of my duties as a parliamentary representative of New Democracy, I explicitly and categorically state:

– I hold a degree from the School of Humanities of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Patras

.

– I hold a Diploma in Media and Journalism from the Professional Education & Training Organization of the Ministry of National Education & Religious Affairs

Therefore, I call on those who spread lies on the internet poisoning the public debate to recant.
