The Athens Sub-Directorate for Crime Prevention and Investigation dismantled a cocaine trafficking ring operating in areas of Attica, following a coordinated operation carried out on June 10.
Specifically, during the operation, which took place at residences and storage facilities that the criminal organization used as “stash houses” in areas of Attica, nine individuals were arrested, aged 24, 49, 38, 39, 42, and 43.
The arrested individuals are charged—depending on the case—with forming a criminal organization, violating laws on weapons and controlled substances, money laundering, violations of immigration laws, and forgery of documents; the case file also includes five additional individuals who have been identified and are currently being sought.
According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the organization had been operating since at least December 2025, had a hierarchical structure, and its members took extensive counter-surveillance measures, using encrypted communication apps, coded terminology, and frequent changes in phone connections.
More specifically, the 39-year-old leader exercised complete control over the criminal organization’s activities, issuing orders and devising its operational strategy, while supervising the organization’s three deputy leaders.
At the same time, they guided the other members on how to distribute the drugs, handed them the quantities of cocaine intended for sale, and each member then proceeded to sell the narcotics to customers.
During the investigations, authorities seized, among other items, 827 grams of cocaine, a small amount of cannabis, three handguns, a military rifle magazine, 119 rounds of ammunition, five vehicles used for drug trafficking, seven precision scales, walkie-talkies, cell phones, and more than 14,500 euros.
The illegal financial gain the organization derived from its activities is estimated to exceed 900,000 euros. Those arrested were brought before the competent prosecutor.
