Criminal charges for sexual assault were filed against the 63-year-old man who was arrested following a complaint that he sexually harassed an 8-year-old girl in a park in Sykea, in Thessaloniki. He was referred for trial before the Thessaloniki Summary Offenses Court.
The 63-year-old is reportedly a professor in the private sector.
According to the case file, the incident allegedly took place yesterday at noon, when the minor, originally from Nigeria, asked the 63-year-old man to let her use his cell phone to contact her parents, as she had forgotten her house keys.
According to the complaint, the man allegedly groped the minor. At the time, the 8-year-old was in the park with her older sister, and the incident appears to have been noticed by bystanders.
During the preliminary investigation, the 63-year-old denied the charge.
