Authorities are investigating the motive behind the perpetrator’s actions, who killed his partner and the mother of his children with eight stab wounds.
According to initial evidence and witness accounts, the 45-year-old police officer and the 50-year-old man were experiencing marital problems, while it is believed that the reasons included jealousy and the fact that the perpetrator could not accept their separation.
“They had problems; the girl wanted to break up. The reason must be that she wanted to break up, he didn’t want to, and he couldn’t accept it. She definitely wanted to leave. A good girl, a very good girl,” noted a witness who knew the couple, speaking to ANT1.
“The perpetrator was a good, reasonable person; we would greet each other and talk. He didn’t show any signs that he might do something like this, that he would go this far. We still can’t wrap our heads around it; we can’t believe it,” he said.
