Police authorities are continuing their investigation into the double homicide in Aigio, focusing on two items that have not yet been located and may prove crucial to the case. These are a bucket and a mop, which were missing from the residence where the murder took place.

Although these are everyday items, investigators believe they may contain important clues. The house was found to be in a very tidy condition, yet the basic cleaning tools that would normally be present were not located.

The 65-year-old Italian man accused in the case claims that he felt suddenly ill and soiled himself in the bathroom. As he claims, he used strong detergents and cleaning products to clean himself, his clothes, and the area where the mess had occurred. According to police estimates, locating the bucket and mop could confirm or refute his claims, depending on any traces they may bear.

Meanwhile, the investigation is focusing on genetic material to be collected from the fingernails of the accused and the 54-year-old woman. The injuries sustained by both are being examined as possible evidence of a physical struggle prior to the crime.

A laptop found at the scene is also of particular interest. Authorities believe the woman may have used it to defend herself against the attack, as both her fingerprint and traces of her blood were found on the device.

Among the evidence supporting the suspicions against the 65-year-old is the fact that no signs of a break-in or forced entry were found at the residence. Furthermore, footage from security cameras in the area did not record the presence of an unknown person, leading investigators to conclude that the perpetrator was likely already inside the house.

Reports also indicate that there had recently been tensions between the couple, related to both personal issues and financial disputes. According to witnesses, the woman had given her son the money she received from the sale of a plot of land in Aigio, which appears to have provoked a reaction from her partner.

At the same time, investigators are also looking into the possibility that her son had returned from Germany with the intention of taking her there so she could be under constant medical supervision due to health problems she was facing.
