New revelations have emerged from the Internal Affairs Service’s investigation into the drug trafficking ring, allegedly led by a 32-year-old former soccer player who played in the Super League.

During the investigation, an incident involving two police officers came to light, one of whom is among those arrested. According to the case file, the incident took place on May 24, 2026, at the indoor basketball arena in Marousi, where the Euroleague Final Four was being held.

Shortly before the semifinal between Olympiacos and Real Madrid, the two uniformed officers, who were serving on the event’s security detail, allegedly exploited their positions to grant illegal access to the arena to individuals in their circle. To this end, according to reports, they requested and received a total of 900 euros, allowing entry without a ticket.

The “Adiafthoron” operation led to the arrest of six individuals, while the case file includes a total of 24 defendants. Among them are a 32-year-old former soccer player, a 29-year-old man, a 50-year-old woman, and a 50-year-old man, who are related, as well as individuals alleged to have supplied the ring with narcotics.

A significant role is also attributed to a 28-year-old woman, the partner of the main defendant, who is alleged to have been actively involved in the receipt, storage, and preparation of the drugs for distribution.

Regarding the police officer who was arrested, the Greek Police report that he played a supporting role in the organization’s activities. Specifically, due to his close relationship with the 32-year-old, he is alleged to have participated in the trafficking of small quantities of drugs or to have distributed them to individuals in his circle.
