The increase of the limit of the unconfiscated amount in bank accounts was announced by the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, in response to a topical question by the MP of the Southwestern Democratic Party of Thessaloniki, Stratos Simopoulos, on the need to adjust the current limit of 1,250 euros for debts to the State and banks.

As the minister said, the limit had been set by the SYRIZA government at 1,250 euros, which he described as the product of a period of fiscal pressure and suffocation.

At the same time, he disclosed that the unconfiscated limit is now increased to 1,600 euros, noting that this is a change of 28%.

“It is an act of justice and trust to society,” Pierrakakis said, presenting the government’s decision.
