Rodopi MP Ferhat Ozgur has withdrawn from the parliamentary group of the New Left, according to an announcement by Vassilis Viliardos, who chaired the session of the Parliament.
As disclosed, Ozgur informed the Parliament’s presidium in a letter of his decision to become independent.
With this change, the parliamentary strength of the New Left is reduced to 11 MPs from 12, a number that is now the same as that of the Hellenic Solution. At the same time, the number of independent deputies increases to 28 from 27.
The parliamentary distribution is now as follows:
- NWD: 156
- PAΣOK: 32
- SYRIZA: 25
- KKE: 21
- New Left: 11
- Hellenic Solution: 11
- NIKI: 8
- Freedom Strike: 5
- Independents: 28
