Significant increase in both the number of approved applications and in the interest of beneficiaries is recorded in the call for Intervention P3-73-1.2 “Improving access to agricultural land and livestock holdings” of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027, following the issuance of the provisional administrative control results table.

According to information from the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, a total of 1,039 support applications were submitted with a total budget of €577 million, more than triple the number of the previous corresponding call of 2022, when 294 applications were submitted.

In order to include as many projects as possible, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food has made a significant overcommitment of the available budget of the call, which, according to the same information, will reach even double the original 65 million euros, according to the same information, by decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food Margaritis Schinas.

The aim of the General Secretariat for Union Resources and Infrastructure and the Secretary General Argyros Zerva, the same sources told APE-MPE, “is to satisfy as many applications as possible and to exceed the funding level of the previous 2022 programme”.

It is noted that the 2022 call, under the 2014-2022 RDP, had an initial budget of €43 million and eventually closed at €107 million.

In the current call, which had a budget of €65 million, the overcommitment is expected to be double the initial one, allowing for the inclusion of significantly more projects and enhancing development interventions in the Greek countryside.
