There are changes coming to the operating hours of Thessaloniki Metro in order to improve the comfort of the train passengers with the initiative of Kyranaki-Tachiaou.
More specifically, following an initiative by Deputy Transport Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Nikos Tachiaou, with the aim of improving the connection between the metro and the morning train services from the New Railway Station.
What time will the first train start at Thessaloniki Metro
The first train of the Thessaloniki Metro will start at 5:15 a.m., instead of 5:30 a.m.
This adjustment is intended to make it easier for passengers using the morning rail services to Athens – Larissa (05:55) and Edessa (05:50), giving them more time for an early transfer to the New Railway Station.
The change of the timetable will be implemented from Monday 11 May 2026 and is to remain in force until further notice.
.
It is a practical day-to-day intervention that responds to requests from passengers and employees who use a combination of metro and rail for their commutes.
