Today, Thursday 30 April, SYRIZA independent MEP Nicolas Farantouris announced his support for PASOK, speaking to the radio station Parapolitika 90.1.

Specifically, Mr Farantouris, speaking to Sotiris Xenakis and Vassilis Skouris, referred to a disheartening situation in the country and stressed that he will not remain independent forever.

He went on to confirm that he will not remain independent for long, as he said, “I am joining my voice for transparency and political change” and confirmed that he adopts the motto of Nikos Androulakis, stating: “In this necessity and invitation, no one should be missing.”

“PASOK is the only cohesive pole that can guarantee political dynamics, with a government programme, constitution, institutions, structure and strategic goal on the road to the ballot box,” he continued.

“I will not participate in the next elections”

“Under the present circumstances, and as the polls draw near, the country is well into an election period.” However, he made it clear “I will not participate in the next elections”, since, he said, “as a fresh MEP, I have issues to complete. I will continue my term of office. I will not stay independent forever. There will be decisions soon.”
