The US Ambassador in Athens Kimberly Guilfoyle was in Tirana, where she met with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and attended the signing ceremony for a 20-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contract from the US.
“I was honored to travel to Tirana to promote President Donald Trump’s energy agenda and to meet with Albanian Prime Minister Eddie Rama, in order to participate in the signing ceremony of a historic agreement between Albania, Venture Global and Aktor LNG USA for a 20-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contract from the US,” she said in a post on X.
“This $6 billion commitment enhances energy security – and national security – across the region.”
“We are proud to build on the outstanding work of Interior Secretary Doug Bergham, Energy Secretary Chris Wright and the National Energy Council,” she concluded: “When the United States, Albania and Greece work together, this region is more connected, more secure and more prosperous.”
