Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed cooperation agreements in the defense and energy sectors with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku today as Kiev seeks to take advantage of its experience in air defense in the war against Russian aggression.

Many countries have sought Ukraine’s help and expertise after the war in the Middle East sparked by the US-Israeli attack on Iran.

President Zelensky said the two countries had signed a military-industrial cooperation agreement.

Azerbaijani President said that the military-industrial partnership between the two countries has “wide-ranging prospects” and that the two leaders discussed issues of joint defence production.

Ukraine has signed agreements on joint production of weapons systems with several European allied countries.

The President of Ukraine also said he discussed with his Azeri counterpart the possibility of organizing a meeting between Ukraine and Russia in Azerbaijan.

“We are ready for the next talks to be held in Azerbaijan if Russia is ready for diplomacy,” he said.
