A formal dinner in honour of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, was held at the Presidential Palace in the presence of the country’s state and political leadership.

The President of the Republic Costas Tasoulas received the French President and his wife, Brigitte Macron, confirming the excellent level of Greek-French relations and the will to further strengthen them.

At the meeting preceding the dinner, the strategic cooperation between Greece and France in critical areas, with emphasis on geopolitical developments and defence was highlighted.

Soon afterwards, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived at the Presidential Palace, accompanied by his daughter Daphne, as his wife was absent due to a recent health scare.

The dinner was attended by top government officials, including Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis, as well as ministers Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Nikos Dendias, Giorgos Gerapetritis, Lina Mendoni and Takis Theodorikakos.

Dora Bakoyannis was also present, representing the Speaker of the Parliament.

The event confirmed the positive climate and close cooperation between the two countries at a time of increased international challenges.
