“It is always good to take stock of the significant progress that has been achieved in our bilateral relations and our continued support for the difficult path you are following on the road to the European Union,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said during his meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama earlier in the day at the Maximou Mansion. “But I believe that we also have an important opportunity to resolve outstanding issues related to our bilateral relations that strengthen a true friendship,”
For his part, Rama noted: “We are very keen to continue and complete what we have agreed together. Both in terms of strategic cooperation and all the issues that have been raised and there are no more outstanding issues between us.” He also stressed the importance of his country’s admission to the EU for the upgrading of the region.
