Mareva Mitsotaki underwent laparoscopic surgery at Evangelismos Hospital, according to a medical statement.

The wife of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was admitted with severe abdominal pain and diagnosed with obstructive ileus, which led to immediate surgical treatment of the condition.

It is recalled that her indisposition occurred while she was en route on the National Road, resulting in her initially visiting a treatment centre in Larissa. After her return to Athens and the worsening of her symptoms, she was transferred to Evangelism, where she underwent the operation.

The Prime Minister visited the hospital both yesterday and today, staying for some time, with his attendance initially linked to another hospitalization, but it is now clear that there was a personal reason.

It is noted that Mitsotaki had recently faced another health issue, as she had undergone a double hand operation at the KAT hospital after an accident in Milan.
