From the study of the OPEKEPE’s file, which concerns my alleged involvement in the case, it is clear that there is no indication of any illegal act on my part. The reference to my name comes indirectly from conversations of third parties, without any personal contact with the persons involved, neither myself nor my associates. Moreover, a plain reading of the file shows that the request implicitly attributed to me concerned, a farmer, about whom the possibility of granting an extension to an impending audit was being discussed among the interlocutors.
However, the audit was carried out as normal, without any extension being granted, without any intervention and without the farmer in question receiving any subsidy. Therefore, even the act that is attempted to be implicitly linked to my person does not constitute an illegal act, nor has it caused any damage, however minimal, to national or European funds.

To avoid any gaps or doubts about my person, however, I am going to take the whole process to the end, by first asking for my immunity to be lifted so that the truth can shine through. I will proceed in this case as I always do, with honesty, integrity and transparency. These are the principles that my political and personal ethics dictate. These are principles by which I have walked throughout my political career and in my personal life.
I stand by all, without exception, my fellow citizens, I always have my door open to those in need and for every problem. I help and serve my place with conscientiousness and responsibility. I will continue to do so with the same will, the same zeal, and the same interest within the framework of my political and parliamentary duties, with ethics, dignity and integrity, with my head held high and my forehead clear.
