The Union of Judges and Prosecutors today issued a new statement against Zoe Konstantopoulou for her “unprecedented behaviour” in the courtrooms.

Meanwhile, the EDC said in its statement:

“The condemnation of the entire legal world to these practices must be unanimous and emphatic. And the action of the State at last immediate. Let everyone at last take their due responsibility.”

More specifically, the statement from the EDC reads as follows:

“I wonder what more needs to be done to wake up the powers that be? How much more will the entire judicial function have to suffer from the unprecedented behaviour of a lawyer-politician in judicial times?

Yesterday’s attack by Ms. Kostantopoulou’s attack on the presiding judge in the trial of the Larissa Single Member Plenary Court was another drop in an already overflowing glass. Even people outside the judiciary now clearly understand that what is happening is not normal. And that the daily arena set up by the beasts of vanity is now blatantly obstructing the search for truth.

The developments of the last few weeks have been an unpleasant vindication for us, who have been persistently asking the ministry for a year to take timely action. For with each passing day the victims will multiply and the most important of these will be the very concept of justice. Processes that depend on the audacity of people with no sense of moderation or boundary are doomed to be undermined.

And already, we see that those lawyers who, from the second session of the Tempi trial, have shown themselves unwilling to follow the path of indecency and incoherence, have entered the frame of targeting, apart from the judges.

The condemnation of the entire legal world to these practices must be unanimous and emphatic. And the action of the State is at last immediate. Let everyone at last take their due responsibility.”
