Gavriel Sakellaridis criticized Alexis Tsipras and the New Left party members who left the party, speaking this morning on SKAI television.

“What he said in Thiseio is a repetition of 2023,” he stressed, while on his former colleagues he wondered “how they will go along with a central direction that treats them as a wrapper like a gift.”

With regard to what the former Prime Minister said, he noted “we are all looking for the content in Mr. Tsipras, so far we are hearing general declarations and easy words. I think that what he said in Thiseio is a repetition of 2023. I listened to the speech and it was as if nothing had changed.”

“If there is to be hope for the people and society that is facing great difficulty, political answers are needed that involve both ruptures and a different perspective and not trying to wrangle left and right to get along with the salons and those who are struggling,” he continued, adding:

“Tax justice has been said by Tsipras. I heard Mrs Koufonikolakou on THEMA about the patriotic levy that it is short-lived which could create some reserve. Is that how we understand justice? It does not account for anything. It sounds nice to both those from whom it takes it and those who give it. There is no credibility, that’s where Syriza lost in 2023 that’s where it loses today, this transcriptology doesn’t help.”
