The creation of a total of 9 positions of staff in the Citizens’ Affairs sector in three of the country’s CCPs was approved by a decision signed by Deputy Minister of Interior Vassilis Spanakis.
The decision concerns the Citizen Service Centres of the Municipalities of Marathon in the Prefecture of Attica (4 positions), Naxos and Small Cyclades in the Prefecture of Cyclades (2 positions) and Malevizi in the Prefecture of Heraklion (3 positions).
The salaries of the employees, who will fill the positions, will be charged to the budgets of these municipalities, which, through the additional positions, will serve the increased needs of handling the affairs of citizens, residents and visitors during the tourist season.
“The creation of new staff positions in the C.E.P. will improve the level of service and service delivery especially for the elderly, people without internet access and people with disabilities. It will also support the extension of the opening hours of the centres in view of the tourist season. The aim of the Ministry of Interior is to improve the quality of service to every citizen, citizen and visitor, to reduce the waiting time at the reception, guidance and receipt of applications and finally the efficient processing of cases. These are the needs of citizens today and for these we are providing solutions together with the Local Government,” Spanakis said.
