Traffic regulations will come into effect from tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21, during the night hours, on the “Attiki – University” section, due to works for the replacement of rails and the installation of a 5G network in the Athens Metro.

According to an announcement by STASY, from Tuesday 21/04 to Thursday 23/04 and from Sunday 26/04 to Thursday 30/04, the stations of Line 2 Attiki, Larissa Station, Metaxourgio, Omonia and University will close at 21:40, two and a half hours earlier than the normal closing time. Omonia and Attiki stations will remain open for Line 1 (HSTAP) Kifissia – Piraeus.

During the works, train traffic on Line 2 will be conducted on the sections Anthoupoli – Sepolia and Syntagma – Elliniko.

The last trains, before the closure of the stations, will depart as follows:

  • From Sepolia to Elliniko at 21:30
  • From Attiki to Elliniko at 21:32
  • From Larissa Station to Elliniko at 21:33
  • From Metaxourgeio to Elliniko at 21:34
  • From Omonia to Elliniko at 21:36
  • From University to Elliniko at 21:38
  • From Syntagma to Anthoupoli at 21:41
  • From University to Anthoupoli at 21:43
  • From Omonia to Anthoupoli at 21:44
  • From Metaxourgeio to Anthoupoli at 21:46
  • From Larissa Station to Anthoupoli at 21:47
  • From Attica to Anthoupolis at 21:49

In order to serve passengers on the section from Sepolia to Syntagma, OASA is temporarily operating the bus line X18 “St. Metro Syntagma – St. Metro Agios Antonios”.

In the direction Syntagma – Agios Antonios, the line will make stops at: “Syntagma”, “University” (new temporary stop at Panepistimiou Street, between Sina and Korai), “Omonia”, “St. “St. Metaxourgio”, “St. Ag.

In the direction Agios Antonios – Syntagma, the stops will be: “St. St. Antonios” (on Ethnarchou Makarios Street), “Kadmou”, “St.

As noted in the announcement of STASY, “we understand the inconvenience caused by the traffic regulations to our passengers, however, they are considered necessary for the execution of these important projects, which will contribute to the improvement of daily travel”.
