Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message with a significant reference to the need to strengthen national defence and maintain national unity immediately after the end of the March 25 military parade at the Constitution.

Mitsotakis said that Greeks who attended the March 25 parade “can only feel pride”, linking the celebration of the national anniversary with the current international situation. He said “we are living in extremely turbulent times” and that is why, he said, “investing in national defence is not a luxury but a necessity.”

The Prime Minister also stressed that in the current situation, the deterrent capability of the Armed Forces is not enough, but national unity is also required. Concluding his statement, he wished a “happy birthday” to all Greeks, noting that the country’s thoughts are primarily with the Greeks living abroad.
