The United Arab Emirates today announced the full reopening of its airspace after weeks of restrictions imposed due to the US-Israel war with Iran.
“Following a comprehensive assessment of operational and safety conditions, we are formally lifting the temporary precautionary measures previously in place,” the General Authority for Civil Aviation said.
It said the airspace would continue to be closely monitored.
The UAE – with popular tourist destinations such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai – was among the Gulf states hardest hit by Iranian retaliatory attacks that came in response to the US-Israeli strikes that began on February 28.
Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait and Syria had previously lifted similar restrictions on their own airspace, imposed during the war, after a ceasefire between the US and Iran came into force.
