The arrest of a 45-year-old man and a 49-year-old foreign woman was made by police officers in Agios Panteleimon, in whose possession a large number of jewels and valuables were found. A case file was formed against the two arrested for receiving and disposing of the proceeds of crime, as well as for violation of the legislation on the protection of antiquities.

More specifically, according to the ELAS, at noon on Thursday, May 7, during a patrol conducted by officers of the MI Team, the police officers of the Police Department of the Police Department of the Republic of Cyprus, who were on patrol in the area of the city, were able to find a suspect.AΣ.., in the area of Agios Panteleimonas, they spotted the accused in a vehicle which they deemed suspicious and called them for a check.

After checking the vehicle, the following were found and seized: the sum of 2.880 euros, 19 gold pounds, half-pound, 5 gold hand chains, 3 gold bracelets, 5 gold neck chains, 22 gold rings, 10 silver rings, 10 gold crosses, a set of gold earrings, 7 pearls, 4 single silver earrings and a gold brooch.

A subsequent search of the defendants’ home by officers of the Agios Panteleimon Crime Investigation and Detection Department, where they also found a pistol with a magazine, 65 watches, 20 bracelets, 52 rings, 82 earrings, 6 gold chains and 17 necklaces, while the vehicle used by the defendants was also seized.

The two arrestees were taken to the appropriate prosecutor.
