Police officers of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate’s O.E.P.T.A. have handcuffed two drivers who were racing in the Voula area.
Specifically, according to the EL.AS., the policemen spotted at dawn, on Con. Karamanlis in Voula, two vehicles doing impromptu races, moving at excessive speeds of more than 130 km/h and making dangerous maneuvers.
Police officers followed the two vehicles throughout their movement, taking all the necessary safety measures to prevent the risk of causing an accident, and stopped them at the junction of Athens and Niovis streets in Vouliagmeni.
The two drivers, a 32-year-old foreigner and a 19-year-old Greek, were arrested there and a case was filed against them for dangerous driving.
As noted by the police, throughout the route that the impromptu race was conducted, the speed of the vehicles exceeded 130 km / h, instead of the permissible limit of 70 km / h, while at one point it exceeded 150 km / h, instead of the permissible limit of 50 km / h.
The drivers were taken to the relevant prosecutor.
