Today Sunday at 10:00 a.m. the skills test for the admission of students to Onassis Public Schools begins.

Candidates should enter the Examination Centres no later than 9am, when the EC entrances close.

Candidates for admission to the first grade of Onassis Gymnasium will be assessed on skills acquired during their time at primary school, related to the comprehension of Greek language texts and mathematics, in a single 150-minute test. The Comprehension of Greek Language Texts tests students’ ability to understand written texts of various types and content (literary texts, simple newspaper or magazine articles, multimodal texts, etc.) and to use basic grammatical and syntactic phenomena. Mathematics tests students’ abilities in understanding and solving problems mainly of everyday life but also problems involving simple arithmetic operations.

Candidates for admission to the first grade of Onassis Lyceum are assessed on knowledge and skills acquired during their studies at the Gymnasium, related to the comprehension of Greek language texts and Mathematics in a single test of 180 minutes.

More specifically, in the cognitive field of Greek language comprehension, the skills in understanding written texts of various types and content (literary texts, newspaper and magazine articles, letters, simple essays, multimodal texts, etc.etc.), as well as in the use of basic grammatical and syntactical phenomena. In the field of mathematics, students’ abilities in understanding and solving problems of everyday life are tested, as well as numerical, algebraic, geometric, statistical knowledge and skills.

As for the test for admission to the Public Onassis Schools, the total number of questions is 50: twenty-five (25) for Mathematics and twenty-five (25) for Greek Language Comprehension. All questions are multiple choice.
