Today, Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., the skills tests for the admission of students to the Standard and Model Church Schools will be held.
Candidates should enter the Examination Centres no later than 9am, at which time the EC entrances will close.
More specifically, candidates for admission to the first grade of Standard Secondary School will be assessed on skills acquired during their time at Primary School, related to the comprehension of Greek language texts and Mathematics, in a single 150-minute test. The Comprehension of Greek Language Texts will test students’ ability to understand written texts of various types and content (literary texts, simple newspaper or magazine articles, multimodal texts, etc.) and to use basic grammatical and syntactic phenomena. In Mathematics, skills in understanding and solving problems mainly of everyday life but also problems involving simple arithmetic operations will be tested.

Candidates for admission to the first grade of the Standard Lyceum will be assessed on knowledge and skills acquired during their studies at the Gymnasium, related to the comprehension of Greek language texts and Mathematics in a single test of 180 minutes.
Specifically, in the cognitive field of Greek language comprehension, the skills of comprehension of written texts of various types and content (literary texts, newspaper and magazine articles, letters, simple essays, multimodal texts, etc.) will be tested.etc.), as well as in the use of basic grammatical and syntactical phenomena. In the field of Mathematics, skills in understanding and solving problems of everyday life as well as numerical, algebraic, geometric, statistical knowledge and skills will be tested.

Candidates for admission to the Standard Ecclesiastical High Schools will be assessed on knowledge and skills acquired during their primary schooling, related to the comprehension of Greek language texts, Mathematics and additionally Religious Studies, in a 225-minute test. The Greek Language and Mathematics test is on common subjects with candidates for admission to Standard Schools. Specifically, with regard to Religious Studies, students’ skills in identifying basic elements of the Orthodox Christian faith and church life will be tested, and the Religious Studies subjects are accompanied by supporting material, such as texts and exercises, which are used by the candidates.
Candidates for admission to the Standard Ecclesiastical High Schools will be assessed on knowledge and skills acquired during their secondary schooling in Greek Language Comprehension, Mathematics and Religious Studies in a 270-minute test. The Greek Language and Mathematics test is on common subjects with candidates for admission to Standard Schools. In Religious Studies, students’ ability to identify key elements of the Orthodox Christian faith and church life will be tested.
For the Standards entry, the total number of questions is 40: 20 for Mathematics and 20 for Greek Language Comprehension.
For admission to Standard Church Schools, the total number of questions is 60: 20 for Mathematics, 20 for Reading Comprehension and 20 for Religious Studies.
All questions are multiple choice and the total number of marks is 100 for Standard and 150 for Standard Church Schools.
