Raids on two brothels, during which two 70-year-old Greek women were arrested for pimping, were carried out yesterday by officers from the Department for Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Persons and Goods of the Sub-Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in Northern Greece.

It was determined that the brothels were operating illegally, without the required permit for the establishment and use of the premises. Furthermore, charges were filed against one of them for violating seals affixed by the authorities, as it had breached a seal imposed by the competent municipality.

In total, the following items were seized from the two brothels: the sum of 1,675 euros, sheets of paper and notebooks containing handwritten notes corresponding to sexual encounters and monetary amounts.

It should be noted that the operation was assisted by the NGO “Our Rescue,” which specializes in assisting and protecting victims of human trafficking. The arrested individuals, along with the case files compiled against them, will be referred to the competent prosecuting authority.
