Commotion broke out this Sunday morning (06/14/2026) at the Dodoni Rally when a race car veered off the track, resulting in a child sustaining minor injuries.
According to initial reports, the injury is not serious. The incident occurred during the first special stage, “Manoliasa,” when a race car lost control and veered toward the area where spectators were standing.
In the ensuing commotion, a nine-year-old boy who was watching the race sustained a minor leg injury. His father picked him up and took him to Hatzikosta Hospital for a checkup as a precaution.
Following the incident, the organizers immediately suspended the first special stage, while intense commotion prevailed at the scene. After a brief delay and once the situation had been assessed, the Rally Director gave the “green light” for the start of the second special stage in Marmara, 11 kilometers long.
The Dodoni Rally is organized by the Hellenic Automobile Association and brings together 25 of the top crews in the sport. Among them are ten modern R-class race cars.
Participants are tasked with covering a total of 78 race kilometers across two demanding and technical special stages, which they will repeat three times during the race.
