Faced with new charges, a 25-year-old foreigner, who has already been temporarily detained for a robbery case against a 22-year-old woman in Thessaloniki, has been identified by the authorities as the perpetrator of an attack against a 52-year-old woman in the area of Analipsi.

The case was solved after an investigation by police officers of the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Charilaos – Ascension, while a (new) case was filed against the Egyptian man for attempted murder, insult to sexual dignity, dangerous bodily harm and violation of the legislation on weapons.

According to police, the incident occurred at noon on May 12, 2026, when the 25-year-old – unable to speak, entered the 52-year-old woman’s shop in Analipsi, where, attempting to communicate by signs, he allegedly approached the woman and, under the threat of a sharp object, showed her a video of erotic content on his mobile phone.

During the attack, the 52-year-old woman was injured in the arm by the sharp object held by the young man. The woman was taken to a hospital in Thessaloniki, where she was given first aid and treated.

It is recalled that he was arrested a few days later by police officers of the Toumba – Triandria Police Department for robbery against a 22-year-old pedestrian. For this case, he pleaded last Friday, before the 6th regular interrogator of Thessaloniki, a procedure which took place with the assistance of three interpreters – one Arabic and two sign language, one of whom specializes in international sign language.

He denied the charge, with the judicial authorities deciding on his temporary detention.
