An aircraft on a flight from Manchester to Antalya made an emergency landing at Thessaloniki’s Macedonia International Airport last night due to the behaviour of a 39-year-old passenger who was visibly intoxicated and causing disturbances on board.
After landing, officers of the Police Department of the Thessaloniki Airport Police Directorate arrested the British passenger, against whom a case was filed for dangerous interference with aircraft traffic, violation of pilot’s orders and disorderly conduct.
Police said the 39-year-old caused a disturbance during the flight, displaying aggressive behavior toward both crew members and fellow passengers. Under these circumstances, the captain decided to make an emergency landing in Thessaloniki to arrest the 39-year-old and ensure the safety of the flight and passengers.
