Police officers handcuffed an Albanian man, 61 years old, who is being prosecuted in his home country for robbery, in Neapolis, Thessaloniki.
According to a statement by EL.AS.., an Interpol international wanted notice issued by the Albanian authorities is pending against him, while during the police check carried out by the police officers of the Thessaloniki Search Department it was found that he is staying illegally in the Greek territory.
According to the Albanians’ prosecution documents, the alleged robbery was committed in August 2017 in Korytsa. Reports say the incident in question involved disputes with a man against whom the 61-year-old accused used physical violence, wresting his vehicle when the victim asked him to hand over two mobile phones.
The 61-year-old wanted man is taken to the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office of the Appeals Court to start the extradition procedures in Albania.
