Thodoris Ferris spoke about the people who defined his professional career, but also about his difficult relationship with publicity, in an interview with Kosmoradio 95,1.
The popular singer revealed that the first person who opened the door to the professional music scene for him was Antonis Remos.
“Antonis Remos opened the door to my first professional job. When you start singing at 17, no one knows you,” he said.
He also stood by one of the most defining moments of his career, revealing that he initially didn’t want to release the song Megalo Erota, which went on to become one of his biggest hits.
As he explained, the persistence of Nino, who believed in the song and insisted that the release go ahead, played an important role.
“The turning point was 2019. Nino insisted that ‘Big Love’ should come out, while I didn’t want it to come out,” he admitted.
The singer also touched on the difficulties he faced with exposure and publicity, stressing that he had to do a lot of work on himself to manage the publicity.
“The sessions and the therapist helped me a lot. I was able to balance myself and understand that to be successful in my chosen profession, you need to be a little bit famous,”
.
In fact, he revealed that publicity was never something he sought, saying, “Ideally, I would like to be in a hoodie and sing. From a very young age.”
