A video of the works being carried out at the Nikaia Hospital was uploaded on social media by Adonis Georgiades.

In fact, the Health Minister referred in his post to the reactions his visit to the hospital had caused, stressing that “with our action we are spoiling the narrative of a “collapsing” NHS and a Minister “who wants to sell off” the hospitals.”

At the same time, Georgiades spoke of opposition from staff members who are in the minority, noting that only 1.44% of workers participated in the recent strike called by them

“Against the ‘misery gang’ we are absorbing unprecedented resources and changing the NHS, especially the Nice Hospital,” the Health Minister said in his post, adding that the effort continues with a doubling of the budget, an increase in staff and the announcement of new positions.

In addition, Georgiades said he will go to the hospital after Easter, when the inauguration of the new infrastructure will take place, according to the relevant planning.

“Remember the fuss they made when I went to the Nice Hospital? With how much violence they didn’t want to let me highlight what we are doing in this and all the hospitals? A pitiful minority who in the recent strike called by themselves, were counted in the 1.44% of its employees? Well the reason for all this opposition is because by our action we are spoiling their narrative of a “failing” NHS and a Minister “who wants to sell off” the Hospitals.

The hospital management has made a video of the overall picture of the projects we are now carrying out in this hospital, totalling over €30,000,000 and I will be going there for the rest of the opening immediately after Easter. We have doubled its budget, we have more staff, both medical and nursing, and next week we are advertising for more additional positions. In the face of the ‘misery gang’ we are absorbing unprecedented resources and changing the NHS and especially Nice Hospital. We are moving forward no matter how much they shout…..”
