Starting today, Monday afternoon (13.4.26), the return of the Easter tourers has begun.

With the good weather as an ally, Easter excursionists are returning to Athens and Thessaloniki.

In more detail, traffic on the Athens-Corinthos highway has been heavy since early morning, with queues at the Isthmus and Elefsina tollgates. Drivers are moving at low speeds from the height of Zevigolati to Agioi Theodoroi and then from Kinetta to before Nea Peramos.

On the Patras – Corinth road, difficulties are recorded at the height of Kiatos.

Those returning from Athens – Lamia encounter difficulties at the height of Yliki and then at the height of Vlona, while small queues are observed at the Afidnon toll road.

The big peak of course is expected mainly in the afternoon and evening hours, while there will be a wave of return on Tuesday, as more than 660,000 vehicles are expected to return to the basin

The return of Easter excursionists to Thessaloniki is also proceeding smoothly.

The queue in the return stream reached one kilometre by early afternoon.

In fact, by order of the police, the barriers remained open for about four minutes to reduce the queues.

About 6,000 vehicles had passed through the toll plaza at Malgara between 6:00am and 12:00 noon.
