The Greek passenger of the MV Hondius, who was repatriated at dawn, is in the Attikon hospital for preventive reasons

At 03:20 the Air Force aircraft carrying the Greek passenger of the cruise ship MV Hondius, on which cases of hantavirus had appeared, landed in Elefsina.

As Health Minister Adonis Georgiades says in a post on X, he is unwell and asymptomatic with no signs of illness.

The Minister stresses that “for precautionary reasons only, he has been transferred to the Attikon Hospital in quarantine. There is absolutely no cause for concern.”

The Greek passenger first arrived by Dutch aircraft at Eindhoven airport in the Netherlands and from there boarded a special Air Force flight to the military airport of Elefsina. He was transferred by ambulance to the Attikon hospital, where he will remain in quarantine for 45 days.
