The ex-wife of 43-year-old Polish professor Pzemyslaw Yeziorski, who had been charged as an accessory to his murder, took her own life last night in Korydallos prison.
The 43-year-old was temporarily detained in the women’s wing of the penitentiary, where she was found unconscious.
According to initial reports, she was found hanging in the bathroom of her cell, having used a bed sheet, and had allegedly left a handwritten note.

A preliminary investigation has already been ordered into the case, which is being carried out by the Korydallos Police Department.
It is recalled that the 43-year-old, in her statements in August 2025 from inside the prison, had categorically denied any involvement, insisting on her innocence. At the time, she had argued that new evidence and transcripts would confirm her position, citing unfair detention and a complete lack of involvement in the crime.
A few weeks earlier, after a marathon procedure, an investigator and prosecutor had decided to remand her 35-year-old partner, the three alleged accomplices, and herself in custody, ruling that the evidence in the case file did not absolve them of the responsibility they were accused of. In her apology, she had denied the role of the perpetrator, reportedly appearing shocked by her partner’s confession.
She had also maintained that there was no financial or personal motive, as her ex-husband had allegedly supported her and their children financially.
Her 35-year-old partner, who has already confessed to killing the Polish professor, had attempted to disassociate the 43-year-old from the case, taking full responsibility, saying he had acted “to redeem his family” and had appeared remorseful before the investigating judge.
