The great Greek actor, Stefanos Linaeus, has died at the age of 98.

The sad news was announced by the daughter of the acclaimed actor.

“Have a good trip, father.
You left full and full of days, smiling and full of love. A great thing.
All your life you fought for what you thought was honorable, just and democratic.
Struggles, agonies, exiles, economic disasters, political disappointments; you faced them all. You overcame them all.
The road you walked had much loneliness but also great victories.
Theatre, radio, newspaper writing, books, trade unionism. In all of them you left your strong imprint.
For a good direction I give you the sun of spring, the scent of the flower of the nerantzia, the taste of kaimaki ice cream and the view of the Messinian Gulf that you loved so much. Oh, and a Greek coffee like the one you used to drink every afternoon with Mama.
That’s all, Father.
Have a good trip…,” wrote his daughter, Margarita Mytilineou.
